Can't even lie, this is pretty creepy. |
Overall, this episode was pretty good. We get to witness for the first time how Kirito performs in PVP battles, Shino finally realizes the truth and of course, the ending showed an amazing connection between season 1 and 2.
So first, I must say that I was a bit disappointed at the fact that people outside weren't watching Kirito's match. From the impression given to me from the previous episode, energy sword users were extremely unique and practically never seen. I thought more people would be surprised at how he was able to use it to deflect bullets or w.e but in the end only Death Gun noticed or cared it seems. Although it is pretty cool that Kirito was one of the first to finish his match as the auditorium/waiting room was still relatively empty as he left, so I guess that's a good thing.
Now we all knew this was coming, but Shino finally figures out that Kirito is a male. Facepalm. Of course this was going to happen eventually, all though I must say I did not expect it to happen so soon. However, I am not concerned about the fact that she figured out, but I'm more interested in that face she made O_O. Usually I never put more than one picture in my posts but this is an exception.
I mean look at that, that is a creepy ass face. Her determination to kill all the strong ones is questionable and seems to be bordering insanity by the looks of that face. It also makes Kirito ponder the possibility that Shino might indeed actually be Death Gun as he is also targeting all the top players right now (assuming that he is a he). However the end of the episode reveals that this is most likely not the case.
When Kirito gets out of his match, he is creepily greeted by Death Gun. Again, I did not think their meeting would be so soon. Shino is most likely still in the game at this point so the possibility that Death Gun is her has dramatically lowered. However it can not be forgotten that when Kirito tried to look for Shino's match on the broadcasters, he was unable too (although he only tried for like 5 seconds before he met Death Gun). The most important part of the episode happens here as Kirito realizes that Death Gun was a SAO survivor and noticed that Death Gun carried the emblem of the red player guild/dark guild The Laughing Coffin. This has shown a unique connection between the very first arc of the first season to the second season. This has made me really look forward to the oncoming episodes as I want to see what Kirito will do with this information in mind, since originally his job was to only get information on Death Gun and talk to him. Also, we can't forget that the episode ended in the middle of their interaction so there is definitely going to be more talking between them.
Next saturday, episode 6, can't wait, bye!
