GlassLip: Episode 4

This has gone on for far too long.

Episode Rating: 7.5/10

So the main reason that this episode has garnered such a rating is simply because it had almost no components involving Touko's psychic ability, and how predictable the events were.

Well first off, there are 2 key events that happen and a smaller side event, all having to do with developing the romantic element of the anime. So as I said before, most of the romantic relationships have been established (possibly tentative). In this episode we see Imi having some alone time to talk to Touko but surprisingly, we also see Kakeru talking a bit to Yanagi. Imi, being the frustrated little teenage boy, blurts out that Touko might actually like Kakeru. This part is absolutely hilarious as I believe this actually made Touko think about it and believe it.

Past experiences have shown that Touko has almost 0 capabilities when it comes to determining who likes who. Seeing as to how everyone knew that Imi like Touko except for herself, the above point has been proven. With that said, even if she had any feelings for Kakeru in the first place, she herself would most likely not have noticed until a long long time after. Ironically, it is Kakeru's "rival" who sparks this feeling in her and ultimately removes himself from the possibility of a romantic relationship with Touko. Basically, Imi screwed himself over.

Now of course, these types of anime have to have some spying involved. We've already seen some when Yanagi was spying on Imi's confession to Touko. This obviously happens again, and this time it's Touko "suddenly" appearing at the scene where Kakeru and Yanagi were together. This was pretty predictable in a sense that Kakeru would be get caught with another girl and Touko would see, at least to me it was pretty obvious that it was bound to happen. Of course, most of what occurs between them is platonic (maybe), but Touko doesn't know that and gets flustered and leaves. What doesn't make too much sense to me is the fact that if Touko was already there, that would be assuming she walked around in the rain (as it didn't stop too long ago before that scene) with only her hat, which is highly unlikely. Of course there is the possibility that the school was relatively close to that position or she put her umbrella in her handbag. However, even I don't think you would put a wet umbrella in your handbag. Some logical issues there.

Of course we can not forget about the date between Hiro and Sachi. Nothing much there. Guy tries to be someone he's not. Falls asleep during date. Eh.... we'll see where this goes.

Overall this episode didn't really introduce much. The biggest was probably the possible feelings that Kakeru and Yanagi might have for eachother. Although if there are, it will most likely be Yanagi liking Kakeru, and ironically she is Touko's rival again (sad). I still look forward to the moment when Touko's psychic powers become more prevalent in the anime.

Episode 5 review to be out soon!
