3 Guys, 3 Girls.......hmm this is a tricky one. |
So of course, this starts off as a normal slice of life with a small twist to it, the fact that the main heroine, Fukami Touko has the ability to use glass as a catalyst to see into the future (Brown hair girl on the bottom left of the picture above). Seeing as how this is one of the main features differentiating this anime from others, not much is explained and seen about it in the beginning, making me come to the conclusion that it is a slow start, at least for the main plot to begin. However, the romance portion of this anime is blooming and flying right off the rails [hah.(sometimes I laugh at my own puns(?))].
So far, most of the romantic elements of the anime have been established.
Touko ----> Okikura Kakeru (boy above her)
Kakeru ---->???????
Yukinari Imi (guy on the top right) ------>Touko
Takayama Yanagi (girl with ribbon on head) ------> Imi (love triangle)
Shirosaki Hiro (boy in center) <-------> Nagamiya Sachi (still not sure if the girl is into him, glasses girl)
What intrigued me the most so far is the fact that right off the bat, some of the romantic elements have already been unveiled. At the end of episode 2, Imi has just confessed to Touko. Fast right? Unbelievably fast actually. I found that with such quick and impactful events happening so early in the anime, it has already grasped my interest and has given me a sense of longing for more. Touko of course, only seeing Imi as a friend says thanks and quickly leaves the scene. OH AND OF COURSE, Yanagi is watching everything unveil (the most ironic part is that Yanagi just the other day told Touko about her crush on Imi.... huehuehue). After this event, Touko wants to gain control over her psychic powers to see what will make and break her friendships and asks Kakeru (who is a strange boy who somehow knows about her powers) for help.
What I look forward most to in this anime is for how Touko's psychic abilities will play a part in the relationships she holds with her friends. This just reminded me of its resemblance to Kokoro Connect where relationships were a core component of the whole anime but it was made interesting with a supernatural twist (that guy who messed up their lives by switching their bodies and etc.). I can't say that this is a generic slice of life anime as there is much more to consider other than just actions and decisions. I am looking forward to seeing how this anime progresses and see a lot of potential in it.
