Sword Art Online: Episode 20

The aerial combat really reminded me of Gundam Seed!
Episode Rating 9/10

YES! KIRITO COMPLETELY OWNS THAT GUY!

Anyways, on with the actual review.

So just as I predicted, instead of having something new that would become his speciality, he is able to dual wield 1 handed swords once again.

I don't quite understand it however because I thought that dual wielding was not one of the skills that were available, and that you wouldn't be able to use it :P. However, I won't complain cause it was so cool how he sent him flying!!!!

The ending......finally!!!! It took like 2-3 episodes from Asuna learning the pass code to the door to finally get out! Can not wait for the next episode, I can't wait for that Asuna and Kirito reunion! O yea, also the fact that Sugu will have the biggest face palm of her life!(but really, cmon, that is some pure irony right there)

Sword Art Online: Episode 19

Lol, its just lacking something when the will to survive is gone

Episode Rating 8.5/10

I gotta say that this episode was pretty good!

Overall the interaction between Leafa and Kirito is getting even more intense (which is kinda weird) but its ok for now. Kirito is still trying to get used to the new magic system and such and such

One thing I didnt quite understand about the episode was the fact that Kirito wasn't able to completely obliterate those "Salmanders" that were following him and Leafa. I mean if he transferred his sword skills from SAO, one can just imagine how OP he probably is in ALO.

One thing that was really distinct in this episode was the fact that dying didn't matter anymore. Although this was shown in previous episodes, it just really lacked something when Kirito went all monster and started ripping everyone apart, and you just expect Leafa to be totally scared of him. Then you remember that it is no longer a life/death situation and that it doesn't really matter. In that sense, it just felt wrong and misplaced.

Other than that, I really had no major objections to this episode, and as always, I like the point that Kirito was able to totally annihilate everybody else in the end! However I would have liked to see more swordplay from him, I guess it is all right for now. Also, it also came to me, how weak Kirito actually is without his dual wielding abilities. Sometime soon, he should acquire some kind of unique ability that only he has as that is how it always is, unless it is the transformation, which to be honest I didn't really like!

Due to Black Ops 2.....

Due to Black Ops 2, I will not be posting any reviews tomorrow, please understand!

Tonari No Kaibutsu-kun Ep2

LOL the look of confusion on Haru's face is priceless

Episode Rating 10/10

I really like the combination of Haru and Shizuku. I mean, I gotta say that when you think of them together, you just can't imagine it, but as you get to know the characters even further, you start understanding that they actually match each other perfectly in a way.

In this episode, a new side character named Natsume Asako is introduced that I believe might have an important role in Haru and Shizuku's relationship but I am not able to identify what that role is at the moment. I believe however that she is the more feminine example for Shizuku. Shizuku has never really understood the feelings that a girl feels and I believe that Asako will help her with that.

Another interesting thing is that you get to watch as Shizuku steadily grows more open and liable with Asako and actually helps her with her make up exam.

However it is still very hard to understand how Haru can be that much smarter than Shizuku to beat her in every test!

I look forward to watching even more!!!!!

On Pause Until Monday!

Hello everyone, sorry for not doing a review today, but I have a bunch of events coming up that will take up most of my time so I can't watch anime and therefore create reviews!

Its a sad life when a man must be separated from his anime but it is a time that comes once and awhile.

Starting on Monday, I will be going full blast with my Btooom! and Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun reviews and of course K-ON! :3.  Please be patient everyone and thank you!

K-ON! Episode 2

Surprised looks ftw!!! :3
Episode Rating: 10/10

I honestly can foresee a 10/10 rating for all the episodes of K-ON because so far, it's just to good!
As always, the balance of humour and cuteness is just so good that I can't stand not being able to watch K-ON! for every living minute of my life!

In this episode, they figure out the band roles. They have already decided that Mio would be the bassist, Ritsu would be the drummer, and Mugi would be the pianist. So all that is left is vocal and guitar (however they don't discuss vocals in this episode so maybe one more character is still on the way!). Yui is now trying to learn guitar but first she needs to get one!

As everyone would, she gazes upon the highest priced one, a Les Paul. I must say that even I wouldn't bother looking at it if I knew my budget was only 500dollars.

I like how in this episode, you get to learn a lot more about Ritsu, Mio, and Mugi. You also learn a lot about Yui's personality. When she is with her friends, she can be very open, but she's also very careless :S. To think that they only just became friends but are willing to work part time just so that Yui can get a Les Paul guitar was somewhat hard to believe, but it is in an anime so I guess it is alright.

We experience yet another face palm moment in this episode. They all work so hard to get her the guitar, but they still won't be able to afford it. In the end though, it actually turns out Mugi's parents own the store!!!!..... I mean you could have said that earlier right? She is able to convince them to sell it to Yui for 500 dollars so that's nice. But really, to big of a face palm, you can see all their surprised looks when she said that in the picture above!

Btooom! Episode 2

A girl gamer! What a rare sight!
Episode Rating: 8/10

First off, WARNING this episode those contain some adult content (just a tad) so I suggest not watching it if  it bothers you!

This episode now focuses on the second main protagonist of the anime. Her name is Himeko and like Sakamoto, you soon learn that she is trapped on the island with him. It also turns out that this was the girl who was actually married to him in the game.

You get to learn about Himeko's dark past as she was nearly raped, and she also left her friends behind to their doom! I have to say that I don't really blame her for running away as I probably would have done the same thing.

You also start to learn about the competition for the food crates on the island, as people start killing eachother over them.

I honestly don't have to much to say about this episode but that it mostly focused on how Himeko developed her fear of men and how she slowly develops the ability to kill others.

Overall this episode was somewhat interesting as you get to see one of the main characters past but you also get to see how they develop their character over just 1 short episode.

Sword Art Online: Episode 18

If only I could tell her that this was going nowhere!
         Episode Rating: 7/10

Well, this episode primarily focused on the ongoing relationship between Kirito and Leafa. I gotta say that it just sucks that we already know this is going nowhere however this episode basically focuses on their growing relationship. I'm pretty sure that Sugu is going to find out Kirito is her cousin/brother soon anyways so this is just weird.

The highlight of this episode was probably when Asuna used the mirror to figure out the passcode to the lock on her cage. I'm pretty sure that in the next episode, she will be escaping from that cage, however I have a strong feeling that she won't be let go so easily and early in the game, that would kind of eliminate the need for Kirito to go up the World Tree in the first place.

O yea.....of course there was that part when Sugou was touching up Asuna again (I swear he is like 10 years older than her.....) but I'll let it go for now since I'm sure he will get his ass kicked sooner or later.

Another thing I forgot to mention about ALO (Alfheim Online) is that the intensity from before in SAO is gone. I mean the need for survival and how people reacted to the death of a player was so intense but now that entire feeling is eliminated so it feels a bit lacking. I mean of course flying it as cool as ever :3 but it just feels lacking.

I really hope that Sugu figures out the next episode because I honestly can not stand to watch this anymore cause it is just so awkward. However I am also looking forward to Asuna breaking out, but also the end where you see people are tracking Leafa and Kirito, I can't wait to watch Kirito kick their asses since logically speaking, Kirito should be insanely overpowered in ALO.

Overall, this episode was okay, but I have to say that nothing to big actually stood out, and it was a pretty dull episode and because of this I can't give this episode a high rating. Although it does lead to a very exciting episode next week (I hope) in terms of this episode alone, it was pretty lacking in interest and action.

Tonari No Kaibutsu-Kun: Episode 1

An unexpected pairing, but a cute one at that!

Episode Rating: 10/10

Tonari No Kaibutsu-kun really delivered in terms of my expectations for a romantic comedy!

It starts off but discussing one of the main protagonists in the story, Shizuku, a girl currently in high school  She is one of the very secluded girls who has no friends and only focuses on her studies. Even after school all she likes to do is to go and study by herself.

Next we have Haru. At first he seems like the common delinquent who is always beating people up, but that assumption is easily tore apart when the episode progresses, you learn he is a kind, compassionate guy who can openly express himself (such as saying he loves Shizuku). He commonly has misconceptions of school and friendship since he has not had much experience with both. One face palm moment is when you learn he is naturally gifted. He can get higher marks than Shizuku on a mid term exam without even studying! The only problem about him is that he reacts very suddenly to things and often results in violence to the answer for all his problems.

As for the relationship between them, later in the episode Haru expresses his love for Shizuku and they start to develop their relationship at school and after school. The funny thing is, that both of them seem to have some misconceptions about love. Shizuku, having always been by herself doesn't understand exactly what it is she is feeling towards and Haru think its just something that is easy to understand and simple (when in truth it is not). Although this is a peculiar relationship, I think that it is awesome how each of them can learn something from the other.

Overall,  I really like this episode. it properly introduced the anime as a whole and honestly, the mixture of romance and comedy was very well balanced that I can't wait to watch the rest of the episodes! I look forward to reviewing the other episodes!

Btooom!: Episode 1

How dense is this guy....like honestly?

Episode Rating: 6/10

I must say, that Btooom! so far does not look to appealing, but this might just be how they executed the first episode.

First of all they start by introducing the game and I actually liked that they only used bombs. I can see how different strategies could be deployed with a different selection of bombs.

However the overall episode in my opinion was just a tad confusing and choppy. So first of it starts with him playing the game where he is finally able to reach the top ten in the world in terms of ranks in the game. Then all of a sudden, the screen displays the word "Start" and he is in the middle of a island and people are trying to kill him.

I'm pretty sure that this will be explained in the following episode, but after just watching through the episode, I was mostly confused for the most part and I really did not have any interest what so ever in seeing what happens to Sakamoto in the next episode.

Now let's get on with Sakamoto himself, I gotta say that he looks very weird at the beginning. He had so much indents in his face that it made it seem like it was really off. His actual character however was that of a normal geek, but more so because he was actually considered one of the best at the game Btooom! You can see his cocky nature in the beginning but it is actual backed by the fact that he is really smart when it comes to the game. However when it goes to real life, you can see how his attitude changes drastically and he becomes a totally scared, but that's normal for anyone who is suddenly put in a life/death situation.

I must say though, even though he can strategically plan as to how he will win and beat the other person, I must say that the biggest face palm moment, was so big that I really wanted to scream at him through my screen. For the bomb, basically there was a timer until it exploded...... honestly after playing Btooom! so much and also just from common sense, how did it take him so long to figure out that it was a timer? I was so shocked because any logical person could see that their was a timer and he wasted 2 bombs because he couldn't figure this out, it was just to impossible to be true!

I gotta say that I was pretty disappointed in this episode because he truly lacked in terms of information as well as common sense. Also, overall the flow of this episode was very choppy and was often hard to comprehend. I can`t say I really want to continue watching it but I will since I still have hope that this was just a one time thing, and I also really like this concept of combat so far.

A New Revalation

I just figured out something....

You actually have to watch the anime before you can write a review on it!!!! So please be understanding if I post later in the night or I only get to post 1 review a day because it actually takes more time than you may think!

Update on Anime

For Fate/Stay Night: I am just planning on doing 3 review for it, one at the beginning, middle and the end.
This way I have more time to review other and more recent anime.

I will be starting to watch Btooom! and Tonari No Kaibutsu-kun on tomorrow and will be reviewing these by episode.

Every other anime I am currently watching will not be disrupted by the addition of these few.

Everyday I will try my best to post at least 2 reviews so that you guys wont be without a review each day!

Accel World

                                  It just doesn't make sense.....

Anime Rating: 8/10

I will be doing a full review of Accel World as a whole instead of by episode since I don't really feel like wasting time on Accel World by watching all the episodes again.

First Impressions.......how does the least popular kid in school go out with the most popular and beautiful girl at school? Not being mean or anything but I have to say that this was a major turn off for me in the beginning. I mean honestly you would expect Haru to rather be a lanky shy guy but he's like a blob.

Well I am done with my rant about Haru. For Accel World, I really like the concept of a VR world where time is practically stopped and the producers could have went a long way with it, however I found that they didn't execute it well enough.

All these battles and leveling up where intriguing however the truth is that sometimes it just got boring, I found myself just skimming through the later episodes of Accel World cause the arc containing Nomi was extended to long. Also the combat just started growing dull as not to many interesting new methods of battle were introduced. I did like the incarnation system but it never seemed like Haru really maximized it to its full potential so it wasn't that good.

Overall though I must say that I enjoyed my time watching this anime and that I really look forward to a possible season 2 of Accel World once SAO is done.

Kokoro Connect: Episode 13

Why can't we be like this all the time!

Episode Rating: 9/10

Kokoro Connect has progressively gotten better. At the beginning, you don't really understand the characters to well, but as you progress, you get to watch all the struggles these close friends go through.

In general, I think this series is successful because you get to see how far their relationship has grown. For example, how secluded Inaba was originally compared to now, where she openly expresses her love to Taichi almost everyday. Seeing how they will continue to grow truly makes me want to watch more!

Now, on to the episode at hand. This episode itself focused on the relationship between Iori Nagase and her mother. In my opinion, this was one of those face palm endings yet again. Basically Iori has been dealing with her multiple step fathers for the past few years so that her mom can be happy. However, when she finally gets the guts to talk about this with her mom, it actually turns out that her mom was also dealing with multiple husbands so Iori never felt left out cause she didn't have a dad..............really? I mean come on, basically they each just wasted years of their lives dealing with ignorant dicks as dads/husbands for each other when it wasn't really necessary. If I were in there positions I guess I would be happy to, but I would probably have the biggest derp face on for at least 10 seconds!

I also like seeing how much more annoying it was now that the transformations were at random. They really had to make sure nothing bad happened at the wrong time!

My feelings about Heartseed from the very beginning was that he is actually trying to improve the relationship between all the StuCS members. I don't think he is trying to harm them, like how he was able to have Iori come to her own decision to stay at the present time with her friends.

Overall this was a pretty good episode, but I have to say that the face palm moment deducted 1 point cause it was just to sudden to be true honestly, I mean they should have seen or noticed that both of them didn't enjoy it even if they were putting on a front, although I did rather enjoy the part where Iori's mom kicks the guy out! Looking forward to watching episode 14 tomorrow!

Sword Art Online: Episode 17

                                                       Yea...don't get Asuna mad!

Episode Rating: 7/10

Honestly, I must say that the ending of the episode was just so creepy, I almost wanted to cry...but we'll get to that later.

Kirito has a new helper now! The girl Kirito saved was called Leafa and she guides Kirito to the nearest city. She also teaches Kirito how to fly without the assisted controller.

In my opinion, the World Tree seems to be like the whole world of Sword Art Online basically. You go up a level and at the end of each floor there is a boss. Also I like the idea of the players getting an upgrade when they reach the top of the world tree as it gives them something to strive for.

In regards to Asuna on top of the World Tree......I wanna kill Sugou so badly. He basically just trapped her up there and is waiting for their marriage, and this episode also reveals his evil plan hidden behind Alfheim Online. I don't really care about that right now though, I only want to beat his ass cause he tried to touch Asuna up! Sugou is obviously crazy in the head, to marry someone that is unconscious and to try and control people's minds is just absurd. I am pretty sure that he is the most hated character in SAO at the moment, even more so than the Army in SAO

This episode contained one of the biggest face palms I have ever had. LEAFA IS KIRITO's COUSIN SUGU??????? LIKE WTF? Honestly and it seems like Leafa has a crush on Kirito as well (which is pretty apparent as he leaves the bar). We are witnessing some direct incest in the making! I gotta say though that just that part was able to throw me off the whole episode so it was kinda disappointing as I was looking forward to see whether or not Kirito was loyal to Asuna even though she wasn't there so a really bad choice for the writers there.

I must say that overall this episode was pretty disappointing. The writers basically led us on with the Leafa and Kirito thing and then totally smashed it down. Of course, Sugou touching up Asuna was no fun either. I however do look forward to how this Leafa and Kirito thing will go even though we all obviously know it is going nowhere unless they decide to incorporate incest in SAO. Not that bad of an episode, but could have been way better in my opinion!

K-ON! : Episode 1

                                                                   To cute!!!!

Episode Rating 10/10

I must say, I have a feeling I could get addicted to this.

Basically K-ON starts off in a high school where one of the main protagonists, Yui just entered high school  She is looking for a club to join but can't decide on one until she hears about the Light Music Club where she meets Ritsu, Mio and Mugi, the other main characters. They all decide to form a band!

For a first episode, this series has already gotten me hooked, with the great humour and the overload of cuteness, I must say that it has really hit my soft spot!

Yui seems like the generic "klutz" you would have in an anime. The one who is always tripping but is still the most optimistic in the group (and she is very cute). She also seems lacking in smarts and is also somewhat shy when it comes to meeting new people. I look forward to seeing how she changes when she truly gets comfortable in the group.

Ritsu is one of those happy go lucky people that is always energetic and seems to have an endless supply of energy. She doesn't seem to like to give up until the last minute as well. I believe however that she has a soft side because of how she reacted when Mio was about to leave.

Mio is the classic shy girl in every anime. She is almost the complete opposite of Ritsu. She has a calm head and I can kinda see her as a potential leader of the group instead of Ritsu. Other than that I still can't tell to much about her character as she wasn't really focused on this episode.

Mugi.........her eyebrows...........huh? Yes her eyebrows seem really misplaced, I don't really get why they designed her that way, but I guess they don't look all that bad. She probably comes from a very rich family since she brought all that china ware. I also think that her family is very strict on her since she had fast food for the very first time in this episode!

Overall, this episode was very good, I'm tempted to not do any more reviews for the rest of the day just to finish watching it but I'll stay focused. I must say the I look forward to watching the rest of the episodes cause I really enjoyed the setting and the main characters so far!

Change in Reviews

After some thought, I have decided to shorten down the summaries even further and not even tell you about the story. So these reviews will be more tailored to the people who have already watched the episode.

However there will still be a summary, it will be very very brief! I will try to focus more on analysing the characters actions as well as my own thoughts as writing a big chunk for a summary would be unattractive, a waste of time to read and write, and it wouldn't be what you readers are looking for in a review.

If you have any issues with this change please leave a comment below!

BTW planning on at least finishing a review on K-ON and SAO tomorrow, maybe Kokoro Connect if I have time :S

Design Complete!

Hello everyone! I have finally completed the design of my blog. I'm pretty sure that I will add more pages like "contact Me' and that sort of thing but the actual layout of this blog will look around the same for its duration. Please contact me if you have any suggestions for any changes in it's design!

Sword Art Online: Episode 16

To many tears were shed when Yui appeared!!! :3

Episode Rating: 9.5/10

This episode was another set up for the second arc of SAO.

It starts off by answering the cliff hanger at the end of episode 15 with the mysterious picture of Asuna (or at least we assumed it was). Kirito goes to Agil's bar and finds out that this picture was taken in Alfheim, the setting of the second arc  ( its a new VRMMORPG). Agil tells Kirito that this picture was taken above the World Tree in Alfheim and Kirito confirms that this is indeed Asuna. The main objective of the game is actually to reach the top. Kirito decides to test out the game and try to rescue Asuna since that creep Sugou-kun is going to marry her while she's unconscious (I mean come on, how desperate is he?). He finds out that all the SAO parameters that are applicable in Alfheim were actually transmitted so he still has his high sword skills but even better.....YUI COMES BACK!!!!! He still has that crystal containing all her data and she comes back to help guide him in this new world (I thought that this was actually a very smart idea). He starts to learn the basics of the 9 tribes and the objective and of course....flying! Then he encounters a group of players fighting each other  He goes in and helps the girl as it was 3 on 1 and he awesomely (if that's a word) demonstrates his strength (even though he was called a noob) and totally annihilates the first guy. That's where the episode ends.

As for the new arc, I originally thought it looked pretty dumb, however I must say that it seems to be turning out to be a really good world. With the addition of aviation abilities I can see how this would drastically change combat and I look forward to see as to how Kirito will adapt to this change.

Concerning the photo, there are still many questions that I am certain will be answered if the following 1 or 2 episodes. Such as, is that really Asuna and Why is she trapped in Alfheim. I am almost certain that these questions will be answered within the following 2 episodes.

From what I've seen from Sugu, I can see that she really cares about her brother and vice versa. I wonder how she would feel after she knew that he was back to using the Nerve Gear. I'm not sure as to whether or not she would openly accept it as she already lost her brother to it for almost 2 years.

I really like the idea that Yui is acting as Kirito's guide in this new game. This will really open up more chances to see their relationship again!

The ending I must say was very well done, I personally really enjoy it when the main character shows off a lot and owns everyone who looked down on them. This is exactly what happened at the end since his SAO skills transferred to Alfheim. I can't wait to see how he fairs with some of the stronger opponents in this game right now.

As for negative things about this episode, I really don't have much to say except for the fact that I don't like Kirito's new hair style but of course that is based on my own personal preference.

Overall, I would say that this episode effectively set up the audience for the second arc and that I can't wait for more!

Current Anime

Sword Art Online: Episode 16
Kokoro Connect: Episode 13
Fate Stay/Night: Episode 1
K-ON: Episode 1

I realize that a lot of these anime are pretty old, but I am a very recent anime watcher and I will still be covering these anime regardless, feel free to recommend any newer ones you want me to check out!

I will be posting at least 1 review a day, since I have school it may take some time.

Feel free to comment as to how I could improve my reviews and/or any other suggestions you have. Thank you! Look forward to at least 1 more review tonight!

Change of Mind

Due to recent thoughts, I have decided to actually start SAO from Ep16 as that is one of the more recent ones and I wouldn't read a review of an anime I might have already watched anyways, so I will be starting from Ep16 of SAO. I will be giving a list of all the animes I am currently watching right now and will tell you at which Episode I will be starting from. Sorry for all those who may have wanted to read the reviews of older episodes.

Sword Art Online: Episode 1

Sword Art Online: Episode 1

I have a feeling this guy will be an ass :P

Well seeing as how this may be a bit late, I'll try my best to catch up!

I will provide a brief summary of each episode and my thoughts on it

For a first impression, I must say the Sword Art Online looks very promising. Following the around the same concept as Accel World did (I will be reviewing that series later on) through the use of newly discovered VR (virtual reality) equipment. The main antagonist, Kirito, enters into the world of Sword Art Online, a VRMMORPG. He was one of the few selected beta testers so he knows how to properly play this game unlike the newcomers as today was the official launch date of the game. We see him teaching a new player called Klein how to play but something is wrong. They can't log out. The GM summons all the players to an assembly and they discover that they are trapped here. If they try any means of escape, they will be killed in RL. However, the real irony is the fact that if they die in the game, they will die in real life as well. The only way to clear the game is by clearing all 100 floors of SAO with a boss waiting at the transition between each floor. Kirito quickly went to leave the group of people with the intention of becoming a solo player and try to level up as fast as he can so he can become strong. At the end some drama occurs between Kirito and Klein as Kirito leaves him behind.

Sorry for having you read such a lengthy summary but I promise that as my skills develop, I will be able to make them shorter.

In this episode, many feelings were going around. The joy of having gotten a copy of SAO and the dread most players must have felt when they heard the news of their new life/death situation. I find this situation intriguing as I can find myself imagining what I would do if I were in the position of a player. I noticed however that this episode didn't really execute well in terms of showing off Kirito as I still don't know to much about him aside from his personality.

So far, Kirito seems like a typical "loner" as you would say. He's someone who doesn't tend to show his emotions unless he's very comfortable with the people around him. As in this episode, you can see how surprised he is at hearing that he may die, and the first action he takes is to leave the crowd so he can quickly level up all by himself and get the advantage over others. He obviously will not be a teamplayer however I wonder if he will ever join any party or guilds in this game as it progesses and gradually grows more difficult.

I really like the concept of this anime so far, oh what I would do to get in. I seriously hope that the developers won't take this anime in the wrong direction like Accel World did near the end. I look forward to watching the rest of this anime soon.

Episode Rating : 8.5/10

Welcome!

Why hello thar! This blog was created for the sole purpose of anime. I'll be reviewing and giving my input on any anime I watch episode by episode. I hope that this will actually go somewhere, but really I just want a place in which I can rant about anime on. Enjoy!
